Frequently Asked Questions
As an extension of the standard manufacturer’s warranty included with the purchase of your device, the optional Moto Care Extended Service Plan (ESP) may be purchased to provide continued coverage against mechanical and/or electrical faults that may occur during the specified coverage period1.
Supplementary Accidental Damage Protection (ADP), which includes ESP, may also be purchased, providing up to 2 years of coverage against liquid and physical damage caused by accidental drops and spills2.
An ESP provides 12 months of low-deductible coverage, starting after expiration of standard warranty, against mechanical breakdown of your device, extending the standard manufacturer’s warranty for an additional year. With ADP, you receive ESP coverage along with additional protection against incidental physical damage to your device – and unintentionally broken screens – occurring during the coverage period1, 2.
An ESP can be purchased on its own, without ADP. Any purchase of ADP automatically includes ESP coverage.
An ESP can be purchased directly from Motorola at any time during the standard 12-month warranty period of your device. ADP can be purchased up to 30 days after device purchase or activation date. Check your Moto Care eligibility here.
Moto Care ESP coverage starts on the day your standard 12-month limited manufacturer’s warranty period ends, giving you an additional 12 months of protection against mechanical breakdown. If you purchase either 18-month or 24-month ADP within 30 days of receiving your device, coverage begins on the date you purchased (or activated) your device.
You can submit a claim for your Moto Care Plan here on this website, or contact us directly at 1-800-734-5870 to work directly with an agent. See terms and conditions for additional contact info.
You can make an unlimited number of ESP claims for mechanical or electrical malfunction during your coverage period, subject to service contract maximums. You can make up to 3 ADP claims for physical damage during your coverage period, subject to service contract maximums. Each claim will incur a deductible.
If your device is covered under a Moto Care Protection Plan and we can't fix it, you'll receive a like-new replacement.
Moto Care Protection does not cover lost or stolen devices, damage caused by reckless or abusive treatment, and normal wear and tear when the device is still in working order. ADP does not cover damage resulting from unauthorized repair and unapproved upgrades. See full terms and conditions for details.
Moto Care Protection Plan prices vary based on your device and the level of coverage you select. When purchasing Moto Care together with a device, you can see individual Plan prices during the checkout process. When purchasing Moto Care for a previously purchased device, you can register your device under MY PRODUCTS to see the prices of individual Plans for which your device is eligible.
Yes, you will be asked to pay a deductible, up to device cost, during the claim process. See full terms and conditions for more detailed information on required deductibles.
Your Moto Care Protection Plan stays with the phone for which it is registered. If you sell or give your phone to someone else, it will still be covered under the existing Plan. If you receive a replacement phone from us, we will automatically transfer your remaining coverage to the replacement.
Currently, Moto Care Protection is only available for devices purchased and used in the United States – not including Puerto Rico.
You may cancel your Plan at any time. If your coverage is cancelled within 60 days of Plan purchase, you will receive a full refund. If your coverage is cancelled more than 60 days after Plan purchase, your refund will be prorated. The value of any claims already made on your ESP and/or ADP contract will be deducted from such refund.
Upon purchase of Moto Care Protection, an official certificate of coverage will be processed and emailed to you. This usually takes a few days. If you don’t receive your certificate within 10 days of purchase, please contact us.
