The ThinkSystem SD650 V3 with Lenovo Neptune™ Direct Water Cooling (DWC) technology utilizes warm-water cooling to remove heat from the CPUs, memory, local storage, and voltage regulators. By utilizing superior heat removal methods compared to air, the critical components all operate at lower temperatures, delivering greater performance in a quiet, energy-efficient system.

The ThinkSystem SD650 V3 is powered by dual 5th Gen Intel® Xeon® Platinum processor CPUs. Because of Neptune™ liquid cooling technology, it can run CPUs up to 385W in a compact, 1/2U form-factor, compared to 165-205W CPUs for air-cooled 1/2U systems. A single rack of ThinkSystem SD650 V3 servers can deliver more than half a Petaflop of HPC compute power without using accelerators.

Advanced water-cooling systems keep the components cooler so the ThinkSystem SD650 V3 does not rely on fans, which are a major consumer of energy. Customers who have implemented Neptune™ DWC systems have estimated up to 40% savings on energy costs from hardware and software optimization.
Intel On Demand Processor Licensing Enabled
Intel® On Demand (previously SDSi) is a new service introduced with 4th and 5th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. It enables expanding or upgrading accelerator and hardware-enhanced features on most 4th Gen Xeon processor SKUs. Supported features: Intel® Dynamic Load Balancer, Data Streaming Accelerator, In-Memory Analytics Accelerator, Quick Assist Technology, and Software Guard Extensions.
