1 Entrepreneur, 10 Engineers, and $25,000
Lenovo was a pioneer in the global PC market when it was founded four decades ago.
With an initial investment of just $25,000, Lenovo has since grown to become not only
the world’s largest PC maker but also a global technology leader in fields such as
corporate sustainability.
Lenovo’s story begins in a dusty room in Beijing in 1984, the same year IBM launched its
first 'portable' computer, the IBM Portable PC, weighing a hefty 30lbs (13.60kg). The history
of the two companies became intertwined over the coming years.
