Most experts consider 13-inch laptops to be closer in terms of performance and usability to their larger, 14- and 15-inch cousins than to the smaller 11-inch models that are also available today. That's because even a few extra inches of frame size allows room for more advanced processors and graphics, bigger storage drives and batteries, and so on.

Advantages of Lenovo 13-inch laptops

It's hard to evaluate a 13-inch laptop without comparing it to its smaller and larger counterparts. Choosing the perfect laptop size for your needs involves give and take.

Compared to a smaller system, a 13-inch laptop gives you:

·       More screen landscape for office work (spreadsheets, etc.)

·       Potentially higher-resolution displays for streaming movies

·       Space for faster processors (speed generates heat)

·       Room for more internal storage, batteries, etc.

·       A slightly bigger keyboard and, with it, easier typing

Compared to a bigger system, a 13-inch laptop gives you:

·       Generally longer unplugged time, since smaller displays use less energy

·       A better "fit" (and lighter weight) for today's streamlined briefcases and backpacks

Greater usability in tight spaces (airline trays, conference tables, etc.).

There are compromises, too, however. Be sure to examine the specifications. The keyboard on a 13-inch laptop likely won't be as easy to use as one on a larger model. There may be fewer ports and connectivity options. If the system is especially lightweight, its batteries may run out faster than you’d like. Plus, the most advanced UHD/4K displays are harder to find on small laptops because there's limited room for added pixels and other technology.
