Base Warranty FAQs
Lenovo base Warranty applies only to Lenovo branded hardware products you purchased for your own use and not for resale.
1. What this warranty covers?
Lenovo warrants that each hardware product that you purchase is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the warranty period. The warranty period for the product starts on the original date of purchase specified on your sales receipt or invoice unless Lenovo informs you otherwise in writing
2. How to Obtain Warranty Service?
If the product does not function as warranted during the warranty period, you may obtain warranty service by contacting Lenovo or an approved service provider
3. What Your Service Provider Will Do to Correct Problems?
When you contact a Service Provider, you must follow the problem determination and resolution procedures specified. Your Service Provider will attempt to diagnose and resolve your problem over the telephone, e-mail or through remote assistance
Warranty Upgrade FAQs
Warranty Upgrades are designed to upgrade the level of coverage as well as the length of your base warranty. Warranty Upgrades are available for periods of up to five (5) years and include a diverse range of coverage: Onsite, Accidental Damage Protection (ADP), Premier Support and much more
1. When can I purchase a Warranty Upgrade?
While warranty upgrades can be purchased while the base warranty is active, it is recommended to purchase the services with the product or within ninety (90) days of product purchase. Some specific upgrades, like Accidental Damage Protection, must be purchased within the first ninety (90) days period.
2. What types of Warranty Upgrades are available?
Depending on the model of your machine, the levels of coverage currently available are Depot, Onsite, Premium Care Support, Accidental Damage Protection (ADP), Keep your Drive (KYD), Sealed Battery Replacement and Product Exchange.
3. When does my Warranty Upgrade start?
Warranty Upgrades always start from the hardware’s purchase date.

Lenovo's Accidental Damage Protection is designed to give you peace of mind in times like this. Whether you need a technician to replace a broken part or a new device, ADP has got you covered so that you can get your PC up and running in no time at all.
Some of our premium lineup of products come with 1-year ADP as standard. This can be extended further for a total period of 3 years.

Cosmetic damage, equipment loss or failures due to usage outside of normal operating conditions. Any data loss or interruption of business, intentional damage and misuse, removal or alteration of parts, accessories, theft, damage from fires, damage to peripherals or third-party products, even if sold by Lenovo.

5. Does the premium care cover physical damage?
The following are excluded from the scope of the Premium Care Services:
- failure or damage resulting from misuse, accident, modification, unsuitable physical or operating environment, natural disasters, power surges, or improper maintenance by You
- Damage caused by a non-authorized service provider.
- Additionally, it is very difficult, if not impossible to measure Return on Investment (ROI) from an IT investment or other depreciating assets.
- failure of, or damage caused by, any third party products, including those that Lenovo may provide or integrate into the Lenovo product at Your request;

1. What is Vantage Smart Performance?
Vantage Smart Performance Services (VSP) is a proactive, automated and on-demand PC performance, security and maintenance tool that comes with Lenovo Vantage. The tool is built to do all the work continuously and, in the background, too. Smart Performance helps customers to scan, diagnose and resolve issues that affect PC performance, internet performance and security. Help keep your PC like Day 1, always.
2. How does this bring value to my PC experience?
We live in an era where people prefer automatic movement recognition and power on/off of lighting, over a voice command. Digitally pampered customers are inclined to expect an absolute product performance with minimal to zero effort. This is what we give the Smart Performance users - a top-notch PC performance with zero effort.
Value 1: Users need to do nothing - VSP is automated and proactive: It works in the background to keep a check, diagnose and resolve issues frequently. Keeps all routine and potential performance issues at bay, consistently giving you a smooth and seamless experience.
Value 2: User gets reliable & top-notch PC performance – VSP tunes up the PC frequently: Many issues that impact negatively on PC performance like registry errors, junk and application errors are proactively diagnosed and fixed by VSP. The user gets to experience quicker PC start-up time, improved performance and stability and faster launch of applications. While the user can go about their regular day, the PC maintenance is taken care of in the background.
Value 3: The user enjoys a stable internet experience – VSP boosts internet performance: For many, living with a slow Wi-Fi is like living off the grid. 3. How is VSP different from other standard Customer Services offers available?
Should you find your PC to be slow or that your PC has been compromised, the regular customer service solutions available include calling the customer support or taking it to a service center for a resolution. VSP brings the resolution to your home. The fully automated functionality helps to monitor the user’s PC 24/7 and maintain the PC in top notch condition always. VSP limits the dependency on traditional customer services.
4. How does a user use VSP and where do I find it?
Users can use Vantage Smart Performance through Lenovo Vantage. It is a tab/feature available inside Lenovo Vantage.
5. How can a user buy VSP?
The user will be able to purchase Vantage Smart Performance Services in the Smart Performance section of Vantage itself, under the Support tab. All Vantage users are eligible for a free scan for their PC. Once they complete the free scan they will have the option to purchase inside Vantage. In the future, it will also be available for customers in support page of their PC.
6. Can a user buy VSP after the point of sale? Is yes, how?
Yes. Users will be able to purchase VSP in the Smart Performance section of Vantage itself. All Vantage users are eligible for a free scan for their PC. Once they complete the free scan they will have the option to purchase inside Vantage. In future, it will also be available for customers in support page of their PC.
