Combatting Climate Change: Performance
Lenovo has matured in its work to reduce emissions from establishing its first goals in 2010 to leading in emissions reduction strategies by 2023.
Since 2010, Lenovo has gone from being a beginner in climate actions, to being one of the first companies to have net-zero targets validated by SBTi, with recognition for our climate leadership from CDP.
Lenovo has been disclosing environmental information, including energy and emissions, through CDP for over ten years. Lenovo’s carbon accounting is aligned with Greenhouse Gas Protocol and Lenovo’s Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions are external verified annually (Lenovo’s GHG and Energy Verification Statement). Lenovo is continuing to monitor and analyze its carbon footprint to track the emissions trend and identify hotspots. Lenovo has been recognized for leadership in corporate sustainability by the global environmental non-profit CDP, securing recognition at the leadership level for its efforts to combat climate change and increase water security through business management and processes.
For the fourth year, Lenovo has been recognized as a leader for supplier engagement (A) and climate change (A-) by the global environment non-profit CDP. This leadership ranking recognized Lenovo for its efforts in implementing current best practices against climate change and proactively working with its suppliers toward a more sustainable future. CDP also recognized Lenovo in the management band for water security recognizing Lenovo’s coordinated actions on water issues. Lenovo works to continually strengthen its environmental programs and build on its ESG commitments and recently introduced a climate transition plan and updated its corporate water policy.
