Lenovo YAMATO Lab Introduction
Yamato has been the primary site for ThinkPad product development since its inception in 1992. Visitors will be briefed on notebook PC related technology trends including hardware subsystems, and Lenovo ThinkVantage features, followed by a ThinkPad test lab tour showing test and development labs
Time permitting, a special briefing with Lenovo Fellow, Mr. Arimasa Naitoh, the "Father of ThinkPad" can be arranged.
Yamato Lab Tour
Typical test suite consists of drop test, shock and vibration test, environmental test for high/low temperature, EMI test, acoustic test, keyboard press test, and LCD twist test. The ThinkPad museum displays historic ThinkPads.
Tour times and availability
Half day afternoon visits (1pm-4pm) will be accepted when facilities are open and staff are available.
