Give a laptop or tablet to that future college student

As students graduate high school, many will move on to the next phase of their lives - college. While some future college-bound students may simply want money for completing high school, parents or family members considering a gift for their loved one may want to purchase something snazzier.

Tablet computers are all the rage at the moment, and for good reason. The devices are thin, light, portable, offer touchscreens and boot-up in an instant. Tablets may not offer a prospective student all the necessary options to complete rigorous work, but for traversing through a college campus, lighter is better.

If a student simply wants a device with a little more, a laptop computer is a perfect alternative. Not every class requires a device to succeed, but laptops offer portability and a physical keyboard, allowing for work to be completed much faster than a touchscreen found on a tablet.
